My name is Dr. Adrian Lord, I am a Consultant in general adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry, and also sub-specialising in addictions. I have clinics in Central London, Harrow, and Norfolk.
The aim is for this site to grow gradually into an informative resource for public and patients. I may invite guest authors to contribute too. The sections on "about my condition" and "treatments" are aimed squarely at the lay reader and hopefully will explain things simply but accurately...please let me know where that doesn't succeed or if there are areas I haven't thought about. Adrian qualified in medicine from Guy's Medical School in London, and went on to train further in general adult psychiatry and addcitions, before moving to the Maudsley Hospital and Institute of Psychiatry to train in forensic psychiatry. He has published on Risk Assessment and other topics, and also widely in the international news media.
He has been a Consultant since 2002, and is presently Medical Director of both Cygnet Hospital Harrow, and Cygnet Hospital Stevenage. Adrian also has an outpatient clinic in Harley Street.
Outside of psychiatry his interests are photography, astronomy, art, running, motor racing, clay-shooting, and, most lamentably, Southampton Football Club.
